Eddy Herring, age 60, of Waco, passed away late Tuesday evening, July 20, 2010 at Hillcrest Medical Center in Waco.

A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Friday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West by Janice Kaluza. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Church of the Nativity, B.V.M. in Penelope, with Rev. B. George officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery near Penelope.

Mr. Herring was born May 29, 1950 in Tyler, the son of Oliver and Betty (Kelly) Herring. He attended elementary schools in Tyler and was a 1970 graduate of Calvert High School. He then received an associate degree in automotive technology from T.S.T.C. in Waco. On November 13, 1971 he was united in marriage to Darlene Ann Stuckly in Penelope. Eddy worked for General Tire and Rubber Company for 14 years, for K.D. Manufacturing, and most recently he was a supervisor for Colorite Plastics for the last 24 years, retiring in February of 2010. He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Waco. Eddy enjoyed fishing and especially loved spending time with his grandsons. He was a past member of the Board of Directors of the Waco Southern Little League, where he coached Girls softball and helped build new ball fields.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 38 years, Darlene Herring of Waco; a daughter, Angela Laukaitis and husband Robert of Lewisville; a son, Cory Herring of Waco; his parents, Oliver and Betty Herring of Tyler; his mother-in-law, Evelyn Stuckly of Mt. Calm; a brother, Bill Herring of Tyler; a brother-in-law, Elton Stuckly Jr. and wife Peggy of Ross; a sister-in-law, Charlotte Hromadka and husband James of Mt. Calm; two grandsons, Edward and Aidan Campos; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Honorary pallbearers are the Four North nurses at Hillcrest Medical Center.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Cemetery Association in Penelope or the American Cancer Society.
